Advantage: Better Performance

Disadvantage: Damaged Processors or Excessive Cooling
when you overclock a processor, you push more power through it.this results in higher temperatures. Depending on the amount you overclock it, this can require in an investment in a better cooling system for you CPU. The cooling system investment may negate the aforementioned cost savings, specifically if you do pick a liquid cooler. Not investing in a new cooling system could lead to frequent computer crashes, or could even damage the CPU.
